Karna Kay Ware, age 84, passed away November 3, 2025 at her home in Sikeston, MO.

She was born July 26, 1941 in Fairfax, MO, daughter of the late Drury Wake and Vivian Hogue Waters.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Sikeston and worked for Unilever before retiring. She loved being with her kids and grandkids. She enjoyed gardening and going on the gambling boats.

Karna is survived by three sons, Kenny (Melissa) Morse, Danny Ware, and Gary (Tammie) Ware; one daughter, Angela (Bobby) Penrod; son-in-law, Larry Kay; two brothers, Gary Wake and Billy Wake; 8 grandchildren, Heather, Janet, Damon, Nikki, David, Katie, Alex, Miranda, and Peyton; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Drury Wake; her mother and stepfather, Vivian and Scott Waters; and one daughter, Karla Kay.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 5, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. J.T. Thompson will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Damon Ware, David Ruedrich, Katie Lasser, Miranda Chambers, Peyton Ware, and Alex Ware.

Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Lasser and John Chambers.
