Julie Toland, 76, passed away June 8, 2025. She was born December 29, 1948.

Julie was known for her warm spirit and love of conversation—especially about sports. She could often be found discussing the day's game with her daughters or anyone who'd listen, always eager to share her thoughts and enthusiasm.

A devoted member of her Quilters Guild, Julie helped craft quilts for infants, the ill, and the elderly, and generously donated materials to those in need. Her creativity knew no bounds—she quilted, crocheted, knitted, cross-stitched, and made jewelry with skill and passion.

Julie was also an avid reader, particularly drawn to history, and she passed that love of books on to her daughters, nurturing their curiosity and love of learning.

Julie Schmidt (Toland) is survived by her daughters, Joan Toland (Michael Lonero) and Sandra Toland (Greg McLard); grandchildren Jared, Ethan, and Chloe McLard; her brother Alfred Schmidt (Jessie); sisters Erica Schmidt (Dennis Underwood) and Elaine Schmidt (Richard Rosi); sister-in-law Patty King (Louie Barnes); and brothers-in-law Harold and Kerry King.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin W. Toland Jr.; daughter, Samantha Toland; father, Alfred Eugene Schmidt; mother, Joan Sherwood Adams (Schmidt); father-in-law, Alvin Toland Sr.; mother-in-law, Margie Dallas (King); and sister-in-law, Karen King (Thomas Evans).
