Judy Faye McConnell, age 83, of Sikeston, passed away Wednesday November 9, 2022, at SSM Health, St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO.

She was born August 2, 1939, in Sikeston, to the late Benjamin and Sarah (Johnson) Burns. She was a graduate of the Sikeston High School Class of 1957. On December 26, 1959, she married Gerald McConnell, who survives of the home in Sikeston.

Judy had been an active member in the First Baptist Church of Sikeston since 1968, when she joined.

She is survived by one son, Gregg (Jane) McConnell of Washington, D.C.; one daughter, Diana McConnell of Sikeston; one brother, Benjamin Ray Burns II of Jackson, MS; four grandchildren, Justin Morton, Kyle McConnell, William Cooper, and Rebecca McConnell; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas, and Tobias Morton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Charlotte Smith.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 14, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Sikeston. The Reverend David Orr will officiate.

Interment will follow immediately at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston under the direction of Ponder Funeral H ome.
