Obituary

Juan A. Solis, age 75, passed away March 17, 2022 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was born February 1, 1947 in Santiago Sacatepequez, Guatamala, son of the late Juan Bautista-Solis-Manzo and Ester Castro Lopes De Solis.  Juan was a member of The Sanctuary and Christ to the World Ministry.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Dowdy Solis of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors include four children, Noel Lazcano, Beatriz (Jose) Flores, Renee (Larry) Gammons, and Claudia Ester Solis-Mendosa; two brothers, Herbert Misael Solis-Castro and Efrain Solis-Castro; five sisters, Martha Consuelo Solis-Castro, Ethelvina Solis-Castro,  Emma Rosuara Solis-Castro, Martha Omery Solis-Castro, and Gloria Ester Solis De Belteton; twelve grandchildren, Naudia Lazcano, Sierra Lazcano, Brooklyn Anthony, Antonia Tidwell, Richard Garcia, Gabriel Lazcano, Alivia Gammons, Liliana Flores, Juan Flores, Fernando Efrain Sosa-Solis, Cristofer Roberto Sosa-Solis, and Renata Ester Sosa-Solis; and five great-grandchildren, Jedidiah Matthews, A.J. Tidwell, Levi Martin, Gabriela Lazcano, and Isaak Lazcano.

Juan was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Hermosinda Solis-Castro and Sara Solis-Castro.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 21, from Noon until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. The Rev. Rick McNeely and Pastor Jay Teague will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery.
