John Ruben Carden, age 68, of Sikeston, MO left this world for his heavenly home with Jesus on August 24th, 2026 after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

John was born on November 13th, 1957 in Sikeston Missouri to the late Billie Doris Saunders-Carden and Winston Wallace Carden.

John graduated in 1976 from East Prairie High School. Stories are often told by others about his time playing football for the Eagles and the team's strong performance his senior year, coming close to winning a state title.

John attended Southern Technical College in Montgomery Alabama in 1988 and earned an Associates Degree in Electronics. He worked most of his career at Confluent Technology in Sikeston.

John liked working on old cars. He rebuilt several cars over the years that he raced at the Sikeston Drag Strip. He also loved watching football, especially the Mizzou Tigers.

Above all else, John loved and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ and he loved his family.

On September 30th, 2011 he married Cathy Lynne Griffin-Carden who survives of the home.

John is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Rick Seabaugh, one son Jared Carden, one stepson, Kenneth Boley (Kelly), one grandson Luke Seabaugh, two brothers Wayne Carden and Donald Carden, and one sister Anita Blasingim (Gary).

John was proceeded in death by his mother Billie Doris Saunders-Carden, his father Winston Wallace Carden, two sisters Gloria Jean Macon and Linda Tylicki, and two brothers Michael Carden and Roger Carden.

A graveside service will be held at Dogwood Cemetery on Wednesday, August 26th beginning at 2:00 p.m. Brother Kevin Mann will be officiating.
