Joanie Diane Newman, age 58, passed away May 10, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was born July 20, 1964 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, daughter of Theresea Smith-Montgomery of Oklahoma and the late AC Wilkerson.

Joanie enjoyed camping, traveling, and going on cruises.

On December 4, 1981 at Benton, Missouri she was married to Dennis Wayne Newman, he survives of the home in Bertrand, Missouri.

Other survivors include: one son, Eric (Whitney) Newman of Bryant, Arkansas; two daughters, Kimberly Wilkerson (Chris Holt) of Sikeston, Missouri, and Tiffany (Jason) Moore of Cabot, Arkansas; three brothers, Jamie (Jackie) Wilkerson of Oklahoma, Jerry (Lisa) Wilkerson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Steve Wilkerson of Benton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Breaunna Lee, David Allcock, Seth Allcock, Jacob Newman, Jaelyn Newman, and Brileigh Moore; two great-grandchildren, Alayiah Allcock and Emberlynn Lee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Public reception will start at 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 pm at Ponder Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 17.
