Jimmy Paul
Woods
June 20, 1956 – June 25, 2025
Jimmy Paul "Woody" Woods, 69, of Myrtle, Missouri, passed away at his home on June 25, 2025.
He was born June 20, 1956, in Anniston, Missouri, to Elizabeth Mae Rhodes Woods and Eugene Ray Woods.
Over the years, he wore many hats and could turn his hand to just about anything. If something was broken, he could fix it.
Nothing meant more to him than the companionship of his dog, Sissy. She was more than a pet - she was his shadow and his steady presence. Wherever he went, she was there too, a source of comfort and routine that matched his quiet, steady way of life.
Woody didn't need much to be happy - just a patch of woods, a bit of peace, and the freedom to live the way he chose. Beneath his gruff exterior was a big heart. He was caring in quiet ways, the kind of man who showed up when it counted and loved deeply without needing to say it out loud. He will be remembered most for the love he gave, the loyalty he kept, and the lasting impact he left on those who truly knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Mike) Foster of Vanduser, Missouri; three grandchildren, Abigail Abernathy, Brianna Seiler, and John Wyatt Seiler, all of Vanduser, Missouri; four brothers, Vernon (Sylvia) Woods of Advance, Missouri, Todd (Delina) Woods and Derrell (Sharon) Woods, both of East Prairie, Missouri, and Bruce (Carol) Woods of Bernie, Missouri; two sisters, Shirley Hutson Woods and Brenda Bolden Woods, both of East Prairie, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth Mae Rhodes Woods and Eugene Ray Woods; and four brothers, Ray Woods, Jewel Woods, Ronnie Woods, and Gary Wayne Woods.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 9, from 5:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 7:00 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO.
There will also be a service held Saturday, July 12 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at his home in Myrtle, MO.
