Jerry Patterson, Sr., age 85, was born October 11, 1937 and passed away March 12, 2023 at Daybreak Nursing Home.

He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Jewell and Sadie Patterson, from the age of 10.

On December 13, 1958, he married the love of his life, Merilyn Crowell Patterson, she preceded him in death December 31, 2010.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; aunt Sadie; uncle Jewell; two brothers, Sonny Patterson and Bobby Patterson; and his sister, Mary Patterson.

Survivors include one brother, Jimmy Patterson of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; two sons, Jerry (Gina) Patterson, Jr. of Sikeston and Tommy (Kristy) Patterson of Spartanburg, South Carolina; four grandchildren, Matthew Patterson, Rebecca Patterson (Joseph) Walker, Chrystal Ashford, and Amber (Kevin) Patterson; 8 greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; one brother-in-law, Larry Crowell; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Sue O'Leary and Joyce Aquino.

Jerry retired in 1999 from Tetrapak (Potlatch) after working there for 35 years, he was also active in farming for all of his life.

Visitation will be held Friday, March 17, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Melissa McDowell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Johnson, Roy Miller, Matthew Patterson, Joseph Walker, Fred Dockins, and Charlie Upton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rebecca Patterson Walker, Gene Bohannon, Larry Crowell, Danny Stinnett, Johnny Rodgers, Mac McCoy, Gerald Buchanan, Mike Buchanan, and Jane Buchanan.
