October 17, 1939 – June 28, 2025
Jerrolyn Self, age 85, of Sikeston, Missouri, passed to her heavenly home on June 28, 2025. She was born October 17,1939 to the late Pat Pritchett and Marie (Lemonds) Pritchett of Kennett, Missouri.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one son, Donald Dewayne Self, three brothers, Gary Dewayne Pritchett, Darrell Pritchett, Dolph Pritchett, and two grandchildren, Mallory Gene Griggs and William Heath Self.
On September 23, 1955, she married Donald Gene Self, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2022, after 67 years of marriage.
Jerrolyn was a member of Miner Baptist Church where she faithfully served the Lord through music and teaching God's word. She loved her family dearly and understood the significance of family connection. She actively nurtured that through the tradition of Sunday lunches and holidays where they gathered together enjoying laughter and good food while creating cherished memories.
She is survived by one daughter, Teresa (Darryl) Griggs of Sikeston, MO; two sons, Kevin (Beverly) Self of Sikeston, MO, and Brian (Dana) Self of Spring Hill, TN, and one daughter-in-law, Wendy Self of Sikeston, MO widow of her son, Dewayne Self.
One sister, Debbie Lee (James) Eason of Kennett, MO, and one brother, Rodger (Tammy) Pritchett of Kennett, MO.
Nine grandchildren: Jared (Kaci) Self, Brent (Heather) Self, Chris (Erika) Huddleston, Ryan Griggs, Garrett Self, Lindsey Self, Darby Self, Nate (Carly) Self, and Camryn Self.
Eight great-grandchildren: Nolan (Audra) Self, Emma Claire Self, Sam Self, Bailey Huddleston, Keegan (Hunter) Duran, Heidi Self, Thomas Heath Self, and Sonny Joy Self due September 2025.
One great-great-grandson - Maverick Duran
She was also blessed with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Ponder Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and service at 3:00 p.m. Miner Baptist Pastor Steve Francis will officiate.
Interment will follow at Sikeston Memorial Park.
