Jearl "Denny" Brown, age 79, passed away Wednesday evening, June 11, 2025, at his home in Dexter, MO.  He was born November 11, 1945, in Dorena, MO to the late Claude Junior Brown and Onieta Simmons Brown, and was a self-employed tool and dye maker/machinist for many years.  Denny was a 3rd Degree Master Mason who enjoyed spending time visiting with his family and traveling.  He was an avid outdoorsman, taking hunting trips to many states, as well as Africa, Alaska, and Canada.  His final hunting trip was in September of last year, spending five weeks in Alaska, doing what he loved most.

Denny had only one sibling, his sister Shirley Brown Fann, who passed away October 24, 2023; and her son, Michael Brown, who passed away June 17, 2023.  Michael was a most treasured nephew to Denny.

Survivors include his very special niece, Robin Pastori and Stacy Linhart of Dexter, MO; his brother-in-law, Chuck Fann of East Prairie, MO; special great nephew, Kyle and Ashley Jackson of East Prairie, MO, and their children, Alex, Zaiden, Kyleah, and Kaizen; and great-great niece, Kayla Linhart.

Visitation will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, beginning at 5pm until 7pm at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 1pm in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Stacy Linhart, Charles Fann, Zaiden Rendon, Justin Henderson, Paul Benson, and Bobby Tripp.

Honorary pallbearers will be B.J. Montgomery, Ronnie Estes, and Rodney Raucher.
