Jeannie Lou Bard, age 61, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at her home in East Prairie, MO.   She was born October 7, 1964, in East Prairie to the late J.W. Smith and Marilyn Louise Gammons Smith.  Jeannie was a beautician for many years and became the owner/operator of a beauty salon in East Prairie.  She loved her job as well as the many people she met through the years.   She was a member of Elm Street Baptist Church.  She enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting, and baking.  Her main purpose in life was being a mother to her daughter Ashley, and a grandmother to little Iris Rose.

On December 30, 1989, in East Prairie, she married Greg Bard, who survives of the home.

Survivors include her husband; her daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Chris Smith of East Prairie; her precious granddaughter, Iris Rose Smith of East Prairie, as well as Baby Smith, who is due to arrive in June.  She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Jeannie was preceded in death by her only brother, Buddy J. Smith.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 8, 2026, beginning at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Jon Archie, pastor of Elm Street Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Smith, Robert Hinkle, Ricky Huff, Josh Burns, Joshua Baltrusaitis, and Bubby Gammons

Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Lemons, Joe Russell, and Sam Bard..
