Jean Marie Wade, age 62, passed away August 22, 2026 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, MO.

She was born November 1, 1963 in St. Louis, MO, daughter of Herbert Mitchell and Marian Walker-Mitchell.

On August 17, 1984 at St. Lukes Methodist Church in St. Louis, MO she was married to James Wade. He preceded her in death in February of 2017.

Jean was a member of Essex First Baptist Church and also attended First United Methodist Church of Sikeston. She was a school teacher/band director for Richland, Dexter, Bell City, and Oran Public Schools before retiring after 25 years. She also substituted for a couple of years after retirement.

She enjoyed going to Bingo every week, traveling, ocean cruises, and eating out with friends and family. She loved music and music concerts; teaching and working with her students was something she loved and was so proud of. She played piano at church and loved the BTS Group.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by one son, John Ross (Shelbie) Wade; three daughters, Jerica Wade, Amber Moreland, and Jessica Tanner; her grandchildren, Carson Fry, Scarlette Wade, Krispin Wade, Avarie Wade, Asher Wade, Jemma Jean Wade, Gianna Moreland, Roman Moreland, Haylee Moreland, Alexis Birkman, Katie Simmons, and Chelsea Watts; and had taken in many foster children over the years.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 26, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Caudle Funeral Home. Chandler Landis, Associate Pastor of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Burial will follow at the Sikeston Garden of Memories Cemetery.
