Obituary

Jarred Gene Sandlin, age 26, passed away March 9, 2026, at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

Jarred was born January 11, 2000, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Lloyd Gene Sandlin and the late Carla Gean Willson.

He graduated from Sikeston High School in 2018 and later worked for Gene's Tree Service. Jarred loved sports of all kinds-especially baseball and golf-and he rarely missed a chance to watch a good game. When he was younger, he played with the Bootheel Blaze, Stampede, Baseball All-Stars, where he proudly led his age group in home runs.

Jarred loved spending time with his family, going to the river, and enjoying life's simple moments. He was known for his quick wit, sense of humor, and the ability to make people laugh, often when they needed it most. Whether it was a joke, a one-liner, or a little harmless trash talk during a game of poker or spades, Jarred always kept things interesting. Being around him meant you were going to laugh.

More than anything, Jarred loved his family. He enjoyed being surrounded by them, making memories, telling stories, and just enjoying each other's company.

He is survived by his father, Lloyd Gene Sandlin; step mother Linda Sandlin; five brothers, Jordon (Kayla) Mason, Jarrett Sandlin, Joseph Sandlin, Joel Sandlin, and Jonah Sandlin; two sisters, Jantzen Cain and Jayda Sandlin; four uncles, Carl Willson, Steve (Dora) Pitt, Rodger (Tammy) Pitt, and Cletus Counts; three aunts, Robin (Jacob) Pryor, Regina (Lee) Miller, and Angel Counts; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends who will all miss his humor and the joy he brought to their lives.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carla Willson, and his brother, Josh Stevens. Jarred loved them both deeply and missed them very much, and now he is finally reunited with them again.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

Jarred will be remembered for his laugh, warm big smile, his humor, and the way he could brighten a room just by being in it.
