Janice Ann Brackney, age 79, passed away May 1, 2021 at her home in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born January 30, 1942 in Sikeston, daughter of the late Clyde and Inez Andres Freeland. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Sikeston.

On June 30, 1960 she married Chancey Brackney; he preceded her in death on January 15, 2011.

Survivors include one daughter, Belinda Sue Brackney of Sikeston; two brothers, Bill Freeland of Sikeston and Gary Freeland of Troy, Missouri; and four sisters, Clydia Fay Mitchell of Sikeston, Mary Cox of Sikeston, Ellen Woody of Morehouse, Missouri, and Tammy Tarrants of Sikeston.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Freeland, Danny Freeland, Michael Freeland, and Clyde Freeland; and one sister, Anna Freeland.

There will be memorial services held at a later date. Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
