Obituary

Jana Marie Wrather, age 70, passed away April 3, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

She was born September 26, 1954 in Winfield, KS, daughter of the late Floyd Lee "Cotton" Gwinn and Margaret "Peg" McEachern-Gwinn.

Jana had worked as a custodian for Matthews Elementary before retiring.  She loved being with her grandchildren, being together at the river with family, trips to Walmart with Darla, and coloring on her tablet.

She was married to Robert "Bobby" Wrather, he preceded her in death.

She is survived by three daughters, Cheri (Alvin) Hillis of Sikeston, MO, Stacy (Matt) Younger of Murfreesboro, TN, and Ashley (Tanner) Fritz of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Marlayne (Jim) Hahn of Garden Plain, KS; one brother-in-law, Mike Schnell of Wyoming; six grandchildren, Kaeley (Jordon) Evans, Alyssa Hillis (Dylan Shands), Paizlee Younger, Deacon Younger, Avery Fritz, and Ty Fritz; and five great-grandchildren, Lucas Evans, Nora Evans, Frannie Evans, Delilah Blunt, and Ivey Shands.

She was loved dearly by her many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Schnell.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Ponder Funeral Home.  Matt Younger will officiate.
