James 'Jim' Ramsey, age 82, passed away February 19, 2024 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born February 2, 1942 in Sikeston, MO, son of the late Elwood Ramsey and Juanita Meeks Ramsey.

On October 29, 2011 he married Russell Ann 'Rusty' Duke Ramsey, she survives of the home.

He is survived by two sons, Mike (Rita) Ramsey and Rick Ramsey; two brothers, Frank Ramsey and Tom (Elaine) Ramsey; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Jim attended Miner Baptist Church. He worked in and owned grocery and convenience stores most of his life, having worked at Barkett's in Sikeston, and he had owned the Mini Mart at Grant City for 16 years before retiring.  He was known for his BBQ pork steak sandwiches.

He loved playing pool, having Corvettes, and loved being outside working on lawn mowers and mowing.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 23, from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery at Dogwood, MO.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Griggs, Ron Oliver, Gary Ryann, Jeff Limbaugh, Howard Harper, and Paul St. Onge.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to either the Food Pantry or Samaritan's Purse at Miner Baptist Church  P.O. Box 254 Sikeston, MO 63801.
