James Sidney Patrick, age 88 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 in East Prairie.  He was born January 5, 1933 in Dorena, Missouri to the late Henry and Myrtle Patrick, and had been employed as a farm mechanic. James loved spending time with his family, playing his guitar and fishing.

On December 22, 1954 in New Madrid, Missouri, he married Betty Sue Hedges, who preceded him in death January 30, 2008.

James is survived by four sons, James Barry (Bonita) Patrick, Jimmy (Patty) Patrick, Johnny (Sheila) Patrick and Stevie (Becky) Patrick, all of East Prairie; three daughters, Susie (David) Easley of East Prairie, Debbie (Ricky) Sipp of Bertrand and Marla (Nick) Rayburn of East Prairie; 28 grandchildren and 108 great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Paul Matthew Patrick; one granddaughter, Holly Jo Patrick; one great grandson, Ryan Austin Easley; four brothers, William Patrick, Nathaniel Patrick, Robert Patrick and Carl Patrick; and one sister, Clara Viola Patrick.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 12, 2021 from 5 – 8 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Full Gospel Church in East Prairie, with Bro. Eric McGruder and Bro. Mike Johnson officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Patrick, Josh Mobley, Bobby Martin, Brody Patrick, Dusty Patrick, Luke Patrick, Riley Patrick and Steven Patrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Connor Dean, Phillip Mobley, Michael Still, Andrew Easley, Tyler Whybark and Ryan Rayburn.
