James Lee Morgan, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2022, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with his loving wife and family by his side.
He was born December 11, 1958 to the late James Kuykendall and Bernice Bruce. After the passing of his parents he was taken in and raised by Mr. Ozzie and Mary Standard.
James attended Charleston High School and graduated with the class of 1977. He continued his education at Lynn Technical College. After Lynn Technical College he met the love of his life, Dora Young. James and Dora were married March 17, 1983 and to this union two sons were born.
James was employed with Starks Manufacturing, Triangle Manufacturing with his last employer being Noranda Aluminum until he retired. James was such a hard-working man, even after his health failed he continued working various jobs so that he could make sure that his family, especially his grandchildren, were well taken care of.
James was preceded in death by two mother-in-laws, two brother-in-laws, and one sister-in-law.
He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his loving wife, Dora Morgan, two sons; Andre Morgan and Lavar (Ashley) Morgan, five granddaughters; Cadence Young, Jailynn Young, Morgan Young, Aubri Morgan, and Khlyer Morgan, two grandsons; Andre Bryson Young and Andre Breon Young, four sisters; Carolyn (Reginald) Frierson, Tracie (Ernest) Gaines, Princess (Otis) Taylor, Augustine Deals, two brothers; Dominic (Nicky) Bruce and Larry (Bertie) Standard, one brother-in-law Andriene Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the services at 12:00 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
Interment will follow immediately at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri
