James Carson Hogue, age 94 of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at East Prairie Nursing Center.  He was born December 19, 1926 in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee to the late James Wesley Hogue and Etta Mae Morrow Hogue.  He had retired from Brown Shoe Company.  He was a member of Church of God in East Prairie.

On October 7, 1950 in East Prairie, he married Dora Bell Burgess, who survives of the home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include: two daughters, Shirley Mae Hall of East Prairie and Dora Jane Thurman of Sikeston, Missouri; two brothers, Willard Hogue and Buel Hogue, both of Anderson, Indiana; one sister, Becky Smith of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Hogue, Buford Hogue and Willis Hogue; and one sister, Reba Boswell.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2021 beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri, with Bro. George White officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ron Hall, Monte Thurman, Randy Casey, Ron Hall II, Mike Miller and Donald Sutton.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gene L. Hall and Dickie Sanders.
