James Robert "Rod" Cade, age 85, passed away August 31, 2025, at Aspire Senior Living Facility in East Prairie, MO.  He was born on July 12, 1940, son of the late Robert "Bob" and Carmen Cade.  He lived most of his life around East Prairie and worked in the farming communities.

On September 10, 1962, he married the late Mary Davenport and together they had one son, who preceded him in death in 1981 at the age of 18.

He later married Reba Hamilton on July 17, 1984.

He is survived by his wife Reba of Hunter Acres Caring Center in Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Naomi (Ray) Lynn of Wickliffe, KY and Patricia Tabor of East Prairie; also numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by both parents and his son.

There will be no public services.  A private service will be held at Dogwood Cemetery at a later date.

Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie is in charge of arrangements.
