Imogene Josie Suedmeyer, age 94, a resident of Bertrand Nursing Center, formerly of East Prairie, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born March 11, 1929, in Mississippi County, Missouri to the late Clarence Phipps and Pearl Pool Phipps.  She was employed for many years at Brown Shoe Company in Charleston.  She enjoyed bowling and was a member of a bowling league, and in her later years she loved to spend time quilting.

She was first married to Howard Lee Bradley, who preceded her in death. She later married Gerald Suedmeyer, who also preceded her in death.

Imogene is survived by her son, Howard Bradley of East Prairie; two brothers, C.R. Phipps of Monroe, New York and Winford Phipps of Tullahoma, Tennessee; one sister, Virginia Gulledge of Granite City, Illinois; and one granddaughter, Nicole (Jay) Phillips of East Prairie.  Also surviving are six grandchildren, Rowdy Phillips, Ronny Chaney, Camey Phillips, Miley Phillips, Jhett Phillips and Barrett Phillips; and one step granddaughter, Christine Affeldt.

Her daughter-in-law, Shyrl Bradley, preceded her in death, as well as her stepdaughter, Nancy Suedmeyer.

Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, beginning at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri, with Bro. George White officiating.

Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri, under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Phipps, Rusty Gulledge, Winford Phipps, Jhett Phillips, Jay Phillips and Ronny Chaney.
