Ida Mae Krauss, age 101, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was born April 6, 1921 in Mississippi County, Missouri to the late Ordie Ward Dickerson and Esther May Bryars Dickerson.  Ida was a homemaker, always family oriented, and her children were forever her top priority.  She loved cooking huge holiday meals for the whole family, which always included her world-famous yeast rolls.  When the nest became empty, she devoted innumerable hours in volunteer service to the community through the Mississippi County RSVP program.  One of her favorite activities was visiting the "old folks" in the local nursing home.  She also enjoyed vacations and visiting new places.

She was married to John Warner in 1945 and then John C. Krauss in January of 1951; both preceded her in death.

Ida is survived by five children, Donna Block, Betty Dee, John Krauss, Jr. (Brenda), Christopher Krauss and Paul Krauss (Lila); one sister, Ruth Warren; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Farris (Mic), Michelle Block, Angela Mayberry (Dennis), Michael Krauss (Loren), Chris Krauss, Alison Smith (Aaron), Jacob Krauss (Janette) and Kristin Sampa (Augie); and fifteen great grandchildren, Monroe, James, Jeremiah, Gabrielle, Madelynn, Johnathan, Annabelle, Colin, Ava, Aiden, Ari, Trey, Taylor, Lylah and Korbin.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by seven siblings, Norman Dickerson, John Wesley Dickerson, Edna Bailey, George Dickerson, Paul Dickerson, Martha Housman and Willie Dickerson.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Chandler Landis officiating.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael Krauss, Chris Krauss, Jacob Krauss, Keith Housman, James Bailey and Augie Sampa.

Honorary pallbearers will be Delbert Housman and Steve Bailey.
