Herschel Oneal Riggins, age 81, passed away Sunday, April 20. 2025, at his home in East Prairie, MO.  He was born May 25, 1943, near East Prairie, to the late James Wade Riggins and Mary Sue Melton Riggins.  He retired from Bunny Bread in Sikeston, MO, where he was employed for over 33 years until the time of its closing.  Herschel enjoyed spending his spare time working in his yard.

On November 27, 1964, in East Prairie, MO, he married Barbara Davis Riggins, who survives of the home.

Also surviving are two daughters, Lisa Riggins and Christy (Sean) Salyer, both of East Prairie; seven brothers, including a special brother, Steve Riggins of East Prairie; five sisters; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 25, 2025, beginning at 12 noon until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.  Herschel's brother, Sammy Riggins, will officiate.

Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Scott, Steve Riggins, Christy Salyer, Brooke Hamblen, Sarah Miller, and Jayceigh Lay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shean Salyer, Billy Miller, and Shelby Thompson.
