Helen Louise Lewis, age 81 of East Prairie, MO, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Aspire Senior Living Center in East Prairie. She was born April 29, 1943 in Anniston, MO, to the late Woodrow Wilson and Mary Burgess Wilson. She was employed by several pharmacies in East Prairie throughout the years, including Aycock's Confectionery, Hedge's Pharmacy, and Beauton's Pharmacy, where she was employed over twenty years before her retirement. Helen was a member of the First Church of God in East Prairie. She enjoyed spending time working in her yard. She was an excellent piano player who also sang with her sisters both at church and family gatherings.
On November 23, 1979 she married Billy Ray Lewis, who preceded her in death November 20, 2023.
Survivors include one son, Jeremy (Katina) Lewis of East Prairie; one daughter, Rhonda (William) Brack of East Prairie; three brothers, Terry Wilson of Bowling Green, KY, Jerry Wilson of East Prairie, and Donnie Wilson of Portageville, MO; and three sisters, Shirley Ivie of Portageville, MO, Ruby Smith of East Prairie, and Madgie Daniels of Matthews, MO. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Story, Olivia Smith Lueder, Jonathan Brack, Pat Strayhorn, Shawndale Williams, Kayleigh Lewis, and Trevor Lewis; and five great grandchildren, Kendriya Story, Jersee Story, Wade Brack, Delaney Brack, and Jensen Lueder..
In addition to her husband and parents, Helen was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Smith and Don Smith; and one brother, Paul Wilson.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with pastor Dawn Walters of First Church of God officiating.
Interment will follow in I.O.O. F. in Charleston, MO under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be William Brack, Jonathan Brack, Blake Story, Jeremy Lueder, Trevor Lewis, and Shawndale Williams.
