Hattie Louise Hooper, age 85, passed away on September 24, 2023, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was a resident of Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born June 1, 1938, in Geiger, Alabama, daughter of the late Roosevelt Byrd and Marie Andrews Byrd.

Hattie was married to Roy B. Hooper, of Oran, Missouri, he preceded her in death in 1989.

In addition to her husband and parents, Hattie was preceded in death by five sisters: Dora M. Foster, Helen M. Rucker, Eula Mae Byrd, Myrs L. Dixon, and Rebecca Brent and three brothers: Curtis L. Byrd, Norman "Buddy" Byrd, and Stillie R.L. Byrd.

Hattie is survived by a host of nieces, nephews; grand nieces and nephews and other extended family.

A private family visitation will be held on Wednesday at Ponder Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service and burial at 1:30 p.m. -2:30p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery at 1201 S. Kingshighway in Sikeston, MO.
