Gordon Ray Jones, 69, of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away at 1:00 p.m. on February 22, 2026, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

He was born on February 28, 1956, in East Prairie, Missouri, to Ruth Jones-Ivie and Hoss Jones.

Gordon was married to the love of his life, Karen Jean Jones, who survives of the home. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Liz Jones of Oran, Missouri; two grandchildren, Bailey McCoy and Conner McCoy; his mother, Ruth Jones-Ivie; and his siblings: Joe and wife Mala Jones, Perry and wife Lisa Jones; sister-in-law Carol Jones; and Michelle and husband David Brashear.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hoss Jones; his brother, Doyle Jones; and his stepfather, Ray Ivie.

Gordon retired from the Mississippi County Highway Department after years of dedicated service. He was known by many as a "jack of all trades" and someone who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed hunting, building and working on guns and he valued the friendships he made throughout his life.

Graveside services for family and friends will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Dogwood Cemetery, with Bro. Sonny Jackson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Carl Moore, Ben Moore, Richard Moore, Richard Wallace, Buck Lloyd, and Bubby Allen.
