Obituary

Goldie Mae Thomas, age 73, of East Prairie, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.  She was born October 12, 1947, in New Madrid, Missouri to the late Paul Julius Ditto and Ruth Viola Bolden. She had been employed as a cook for Ingram Barge Co.  Goldie always enjoyed helping others, loved yard sales, and taking rides in the country looking for deer.  She was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Dexter, Missouri.

Survivors include one son, Jason Wade Thomas and his wife Vickie of Sikeston, Missouri; three brothers, Donald Gene Ditto of East Prairie, Charles Paul Ditto of Chaffee, Missouri and James Lee Ditto of East Prairie; two sisters, Sandra Ruth Ditto of East Prairie and Sharon K. Johnson and her husband Henry of East Prairie; and two sisters-in-law, Karen Ditto of East Prairie and Pat Ditto of Benton, Missouri.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Kaitlyn Thomas, Chandler Thomas, Jacob Sipp, Kevin Sipp, Logan Thomas, Miley Hall and Hayden Hall; and three great grandchildren, Daxton Thomas, Brysen Kelly and Gracelyn Graham.

In addition to her parents and husband, Goldie was preceded in death by four brothers, Donnie Joe Ditto, John Lewis Ditto, Linsey Allen Ditto and Freddie D. Ditto; and one sister, Joyce A. Ditto.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021, from 5 – 7 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 2, 2021, at 10 a.m. in the Shelby Chapel, with Bro. John Givens officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chandler Thomas, Jacob Sipp, Kevin Sipp, Logan Thomas, Hayden Hall, Clayton Moore and Charles Ditto.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Moody, Tyler Latamondeer and Mason Johnston.
