Gloria Ann Chaney, age 72, passed away April 23, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
She was born July 18, 1948 in Canalou, Missouri, daughter of the late Grover David and Iris Blankenship Drake.
Gloria was a member of Canalou Baptist Church and worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse before retiring. She was an active member of Order of the Eastern Star, serving as Worthy Grand Matron in 2012; she is a member of the Grand Cross of Color International Order of Rainbow for Girls, she was also an active member of Sikeston Elks Lodge #2319, where she currently held the office of Tiler and had volunteered countless hours to the Bingo program.
On October 15, 1965 at Morehouse, Missouri she married John Chaney, he survives of the home in Sikeston.
Other survivors include two sons, Kevin (Jody) Chaney of Matthews, Missouri and Jody (Karen) Chaney of Sikeston; one daughter, Erin (Scott) Harp of Ozark, Missouri; two sisters, Rebecca Stafford of Advance, Missouri and Gladys Drake of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Krysten Chaney Begley, Jake Chaney, Megan Harper, Johnna Chaney, Jennie Chaney, Josh Shockney, Danielle Palmer, Tyson Chaney, Tanner Chaney, and Tucker Chaney; five great-grandchildren, Avery Begley, Davis Begley, Ophelia Begley, Lily Chaney, and Paxton Phillips.
In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by one son, David Chaney on March 3, 2007; and one brother, Larry Lynn Drake.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 28, from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral services at 6:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston.
