Virginia "Ginger" Phillips was born August 6, 1941, in Orlando, FL.  She grew up in Oviedo, FL when central Florida was still rural.  She loved the outdoors, fast cars and motorcycles.

In December 1973 she married the love of her life, Roy Patrick Phillips from East Prairie, MO, who preceded her in death in 2014.  Together they raised a wonderful family consisting of Steve, Cyndi, Tina, and Bryan, who preceded her in death in 2017.

Ginger had many interests that filled her days.  She loved flowers, being outdoors, and sewing, which she was very talented at, often making dresses for her daughters.  She passed her love for the craft to both her daughters who still sew today.  She was a lifelong member of the organization of Beta Sigma Phi.  She loved the sisterhood and extremely enjoyed the service projects.  The thing she loved the most was being called "Granny" and spending time with her family and celebrating their milestones.  She was always ready to hand out advice whether you wanted to hear it or not.

Though our hearts are broken, we know her memory and lessons will never leave us, and she will be greatly missed.  She is survived by her son, Steve Taylor; daughters, Cyndi (Dave) Norton and Tina Hart; grandchildren, Dustin (Emily) Garner, Adam (Erlys) Hart, Holly Hart, Ireland Phillips Norton, Stephanie Norton, and Michael Norton; great grandchildren, Millie Garner, Sophia Hart, Abby Hart, and Annabelle Scott; her nephew, Lonnie Wrye; and a host of great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at the First Church of God in East Prairie, MO on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 1 p.m.  Pastor Dawn Walters will officiate.
