Gerald Wilson Borders, age 95, passed away August 20, 2022 at his home in Sikeston, Missouri.

He was born on June 23, 1927 in Frisco, Missouri, son of the late Roswell Borders and Lilly Estele Dowdy Borders.

Gerald was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served three terms during the Korean War, he had been Service Manager for Jarvis Motor Company in Sikeston and Ponder Chevrolet in Charleston, Missouri and had owned and operated Borders Welding in Sikeston before retiring.

He was married to Opal Jean Borders, she preceded him in death.

On October 8, 2010 he married Cheryl Ann Borders at Piggott, Arkansas, she survives of the home in Sikeston.

Other survivors include two stepsons, Rickey Tucker and David Tucker both of Sikeston; one stepdaughter, Stacy McWhiter of Sikeston; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Danny Borders; and his siblings, June, Georgie, Mable, Dorothy, Bob, David, Virgil, and Glenn.

There will be private services held with interment in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, Missouri. Southern Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.
