Obituary

Geneva "Lois" Hutchison Chambers, born August 24, 1929, went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2025. Born in Tilene, KY, she moved to the Anniston area as a young child where she eventually met and married her high school sweetheart, Shirley Ross Chambers. They were married 76 years before his death in 2024. Lois was a beautiful soul who loved the Lord and was devoted to her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Chambers Wiedman (John); three grandsons, Cary Wiedman, Bradley Wiedman (Danika), Blake Wiedman (Brenna); five great grandchildren, Catherine Wiedman-Smirnov (Anton), Oliver Wiedman, Tait Wiedman, Caroline Wiedman and Jack Wiedman; one great-great granddaughter, Sylvie Smirnov.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Hutchison and Betty Stokes Hutchison; five brothers, Frank Hutchison (Ruth), Wallace Hutchison (Loretta), Marvin Hutchison (Marie), Rollie Hutchison (Margaret) and Howard Hutchison (Fern); two sisters, Mildred Hutchison Chambers ( Charles "Winks") and Nadine Hutchison Moore (Cletus).

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 3, 2025, beginning at 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.  Dawn Walters, pastor of Church of God in East Prairie, will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Anniston Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be John Wiedman, Cary Wiedman, Brad Wiedman, Blake Wiedman and Oliver Wiedman.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
