Obituary

Gary T. Lindsey, age 77, passed away at his home in Sikeston, MO, surrounded by his loving family on May 19, 2026. Gary was born November 20, 1948 to the late Robert James and Ethal Grant Lindsey.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Karen Agee Lindsey. They were married on November 29, 2019 in Sikeston, MO.

A hardworking and dedicated man, Gary was a welder at Steward Steel Inc. Prior to his welding career, he was honored to serve his country in the United States Army.

Gary had a deep love for competition and the outdoors. Whether he was playing fast-pitch softball, golfing, pitching horseshoes, or competing in tournaments, he enjoyed every opportunity to stay active and connect with others. He also found great joy in fishing and deer hunting, hobbies that brought him peace and happiness over the years.

Above all, Gary was a man of strong faith and a generous spirit. He was a devoted member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Sikeston, Missouri, where he faithfully served the Lord and willingly helped anyone in need. His kindness, servant's heart, and willingness to lend a hand touched many lives.

He is survived by daughters Ashleigh Vaughn (Kenneth) of Sikeston, MO, Stephanie Stinnett (Curtis) of East Prairie, MO, and Tammy Toon (Jamie) of Williamsville, MO ; loving family member, Johnny (Lisa) Seabaugh; three sisters-in-law, Linda Lindsey of Sevierville, TN, Timandra Lindsey of Maryville, TN, and Tonya Lindsey of Sikeston, MO; grandchildren Ben, Donovan, Brody, Ethan, Austin, Cody, Kaitlyn, Brayden, Quinn, Miley, Matthew, and Madelyn; and great grandchildren Lucy, Stella, Cade, Cody Ray, River, Jayci, Jada, and Dimitri. Gary is survived by many loving family members and friends that will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Max Daniel Lindsey, Larry Lindsey, and Roger Dale Lindsey.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO. Funeral services will be the following day, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Billy Davis and Bro. Tom McCanless will officiate.

Interment will follow at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, MO will full military honors.

Pallbearers are Johnny Seabaugh, Curtis Stinnett, Brody Stone, Donovan Stone, Kenneth Vaughn, and Ben Vaughn. Honorary pallbearers are Matt Bolen, Dan Wood, and John Clark.
