Freda Ann Sturgeon-Ashby, age 58, passed away July 13, 2021 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born May 19, 1963 in Sikeston, daughter of the late Ronald Eugene Sturgeon and Fern Davenport-Moss.

Freda was a member of Assembly of God in Bernie, Missouri and the Goldwing Motorcycle Group.  She founded the Precious Whiskers Cat Rescue and helped any other four-legged animal possible.  She had worked as a Registered Nurse for Missouri Delta Medical Center for 23 years.

She is survived by her husband, Morris Alan Ashby of the home; two nephews, Devin Sturgeon and Dustin (Chelsea) Sturgeon; two brothers, R.J. Sturgeon and Ronald Ernest Sturgeon; two sisters, Rhonda Mendoza and Carol Laracuente; and two close friends, Cindy Deason and Monica Burnett.

Visitation will be held Monday, July 19, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 11:00 a.m.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
