Frances Ellen Moore, age 94, passed away, December 12, 2023, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born October 15, 1929, in Tuckerman, Arkansas, to the late Guy Ernest Tyrey and Agnes Cleora Sherrell Tyrey.

On February 4, 1949, she married Harold Davis Moore, whom she had known since their first grade year of school. He preceded her in death.

Frances was a 1947 graduate of Valley Park, Missouri High School.  She loved mushroom hunting, and spending time with her grandkids and great grandchildren.  She was known as "Nanny" to everyone.  She lived most of her adult life in the St. Louis area, and worked in statistics and research for Blue Cross.

Survivors include one daughter, Valerie Hemby of Sikeston, Missouri; one brother, Donald Tyrey of O'Fallon, Missouri; one sister, Mary Jo Helton of Highridge, Missouri; one grandson, Stephen (Tori) Hemby of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one granddaughter, Sarah (Ryan) Mitchell of Sikeston, Missouri; great grandchildren, Nolan Matlock, Sloan Hemby, Hunter Mitchell and Harper Mitchell and many neices and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one brother, Owen Tyrey, and one sister Alma Burnett.

Visitation will be Sunday December 17, 2023, at Ponder Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 6 p.m. There will be a private interment in Montgomery City Cemetery in Montgomery, Missouri.
