Obituary

Fonzy Stevenson passed away on 07/11/2024 at the age of 88.

He was the beloved husband of the late Barbara Sue of Wentzville, MO. He is survived by his son, Steven (Donna) Stevenson of Hazelwood, MO; daughter, Janice (Mike) Pool of O'Fallon MO; five granddaughters, Jennifer (Chris) Parks, Rebecca (Andres Morales) Stevenson, Katherine (Korey) Klosterhoff, Amy (Kris) Kern, Rachel (Zak) Meyer; ten great-grandchildren, Kayley, Henry and Maxwell Parks; Dewey and Louise Klosterhoff; Owen and Jack Kern; Rowan, Stella and Myra Meyer and his sister-in-law Marilyn Stevenson.

Fonzy loved farming and hunting. He retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. Fonzy was a faithful Christian and active in his church, where he served as a deacon. After Fonzy retired, he discovered his love for woodworking. He took on many projects like making kitchen cabinet sets, children's rocking chairs for each of his granddaughters families and many other pieces that are still cherished and used each day.

Fonzy was a family man. He always made an effort to visit his family members that lived near and far. There wasn't much that Fonzy enjoyed more than helping anyone in need. He was always the first to offer his help.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Sue (Welch) Stevenson; parents, Floy and Minnie (Gulledge) Stevenson and siblings, Norma Jean (Buck) Samons, Kenneth Stevenson, and Joyce (Ray) Honse.

Fonzy was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
