Obituary

Emmanuel Nichols, age 63, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022, at his home in Sikeston surrounded by his family.

Emmanuel's greatest joy was his family, friends, collecting antiques, and taking care of others.

He was employed as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for 25 years at Miner Nursing Center and Hunter Acres Caring Center, where he later became the Maintenance Supervisor.

Born January 21, 1959 in Duncan, Mississippi, son of the late Rev. Johnnie and Zora Winters Nichols.

Emmanuel leaves behind five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Johnny (Regina) Nichols of Jacksonville, Illinois, Henry Nichols, Charles E. Nichols, Jerry Nichols, and Carl (Paula) Nichols of Sikeston; and four sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary H. Nichols, Carlean (Russell) Dial, Betty J. Nichols, and Denese (Michael) Robinson of Sikeston.

He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and a close special friend and confidante, Pam Wiley, who was there for Emmanuel and encouraged him during his time of need.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Carr Nichols, whom he married in 1979; and one brother, John W. Nichols.

Visitation will be held Friday, October 28, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12 noon at Ponder Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery.
