Doyle Reed Mays, age 65, passed away June 14, 2025 at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born February 27, 1960 in Portageville, MO, son of the late Ruben Mays and Myrtle Ganus-Mays.

Doyle worked as a forklift operator for CB Farms. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews, socializing, and driving around town.

He is survived by three brothers, Ruben (Loretta) Mays Jr. of Mt. Vernon, IL, Bill (Shela) Mays of Sikeston, MO, and James Mays of Rockford, IL; five sisters, Marilyn Johnson of Sikeston, MO, Glenda Ray (George) O'Dell of Sikeston, MO, Carolyn (James) Day of Sikeston, MO, Shirley (Norman) Henry of Mayfield, KY, and Janet (Patrick) Powell of Dexter, MO; many nieces and nephews; and lots of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Mays and Danny Mays.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 18, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 11:00 a.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, MO.

Interment will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lyle Day, James Day Jr., Dwayne O'Dell, Danny Mays, Michael Henry, Jeff Ditto, Tommy Stone, and Eric Day.
