Doris Rita Stepp, age 96, passed away November 3, 2023 at Sikeston Convalescent Center.  She resided at LaBonne Maison Senior Living in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born July 23, 1927 in Lilbourn, Missouri, daughter of the late Walter DuBois and Leta Geneva Guess-DuBois.

She was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church and was a devoted wife and mother.

Doris enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a member of a Ladies Bridge Club and enjoyed being with her friends.

Her passion and hobby was golfing, Doris belonged to the Ladies Golf Association at the Sikeston Country Club.  She received numerous trophies and was considered an excellent golfer.

Doris married Dr. Forrest "Doc" Alfred Stepp, a veterinarian in Sikeston from 1946-1983, who preceded her in death July 16, 1983.

Survivors include a son, Forrest A. (Vickie) Stepp of Sikeston, MO; nieces, Karen Mattingly of Jackson, MO, Melissa (Chip) Haring of St. Peters, MO, Rita (Randy) Johnson of Wildwood, MO, Laura (David-deceased) Hulcy of Cape Girardeau, MO, Kathy Joyce Rodgers of Jackson, MO; and several loving great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette P. Joyce and a nephew, Robert F. Joyce II.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 9, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. followed by graveside services at 12:00 noon at the Sikeston Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home.  Father Colby Elbert will officiate.
