Doris Elaine Pemberton, age 77, of Bertrand, Missouri, passed away May 17, 2022 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was born March 25, 1945 in Cairo, Illinois, daughter of the late James Edwards and Eula Mae Brown Edwards.

Doris was a member of Bertrand First Baptist Church where she had worked in the nursery. She loved gardening, arts & crafts, and sewing.

On December 8, 1963 she was married to David Lee Pemberton, Sr., he preceded her in death May 13, 2019.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Ann (Trent) Fields of Georgia; two sons, David Lee (Mary) Pemberton, Jr. of Sikeston and Paul Elzie Pemberton of Bertrand; one brother, Jim Edwards of Carbondale, Illinois; one sister Sue Welch of St. Louis, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Trace Pemberton and Trent Fields, Jr.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeremiah Tyler Fields.

Interment will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri. Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri is in charge of arrangements.
