December 7, 1939 – February 7, 2022
Carl "Donnie" Hale, age 82, passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, at his home in East Prairie, Missouri. He was born December 7, 1939, in East Prairie to the late Duncan Henry Hale and Mary Myrtle Bailey Hale. He was a self-employed farmer, and a member of the International Brotherhood Boilermakers' Union and a Jehovah Witness. In his spare time, he loved fishing.
On July 8, 1970, in Union City, Tennessee he married Jewel Pauline Bryars Hale, who survives of the home. Together, Donnie and Jewel spent many years building and working together as a family and were the owners of Hale Custom Farms.
Donnie is survived by one brother, Frankie (Dianne) Hale of Ellisville, Missouri; his sister-in-law, Connie (Steve) Powers of East Prairie, who he helped raise like a daughter. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces that he also helped to raise as his own children and grandchildren, James and Sabrina Powers and their children, Brianna, Tyleigh, and Madison Powers of Dogwood.
Donnie is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Lola Bryars of East Prairie, Donald and Gail Bryars and their daughter Brittany Bryars, all of Bertrand and Harold and Pat Bryars of Charleston, Missouri; and a lot of nieces and nephews, Kaleigh Green and Alivia Loomes, daughters of Marsha Bryars Loomes of East Prairie, Walter (Elisha) Bryars and their children, Brandon (Logan) Patrick, Dustin (Connor) Bryars, Cody (Logan) Bryars and Mason Bryars of East Prairie and Barry Paul Bryars of Sikeston, Missouri; great nephew, Paul Bryars of East Prairie; and many other family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Keith Hale Hyde; five brothers, Joseph "Tom Dooley" Hale, Leroy Hale, Harold Hale, Johnny Hale, and Marion Hale; two sisters, Margaret Bailey and Martha Richmond; and one nephew, Stephen Wesley Powers.
Visitation will be Monday February 14, 2022, from 6 - 8 pm at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 15, at 10 am in the Shelby Chapel, with Rev. Walter Bryars, Sr. and Minister James Powers officiating.
Interment will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donald Bryars, Walter Bryars II, Dustin Bryars, Cody Bryars, Mason Bryars, and Brandon Patrick. Honorary Pallbearer - Harold Bryars.
