Donna Jean Uthoff Grissom Byassee, age 89, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022, at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was born December 5, 1932, in Matthews, Missouri   to the late Thomas Jefferson Uthoff and Eva Denning Uthoff and was a member of Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church in East Prairie.

Donna was a graduate of Diehlstadt High School and played as the starting forward on the All-Star Basketball Team.  She worked as a bookkeeper for Tanksley Trucking, had a notary office on Washington Street and was the owner of Byassee Package.  She was employed for over 30 years at Budget Laundry in East Prairie, later purchasing the business which she then owned for 10 years.  She was a former member on both the Board of Senior Citizens and the East Prairie Nutrition Center.  She also served as East Prairie City Treasurer, a position she has held from 2006 until her death.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Kelle Byassee Goodding of East Prairie; one son, Keith (Jennifer) Grissom of East Prairie; six grandsons, Chad (Brandi) Grissom, Colin (Amy) Grissom, Brink Chance, Blake Smithson, Spencer Cates and Blayn Goodding, all of East Prairie; one granddaughter, Libby Cates of East Prairie; and five great grandchildren, Maryn and Lakyn Grissom, and Lucas, Alyssa and Hadley Grissom, all of East Prairie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, James, Dee and Spencer Uthoff; three sisters, Pansy Ayers, Ruby Jones and Clara Patrick; and one daughter, Eva Grissom.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2022, beginning at 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12 noon at the Church of God in East Prairie, under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Grissom, Colin Grissom, Brink Chance, Blake Smithson, Spencer Cates and Blayn Goodding.
