Donald Gene Spraggs, age 65, passed away March 12, 2024 at his home in Matthews, MO.

He was born November 8, 1958 in East Prairie, MO, son of the late J.B. Spraggs and Mary Johnson-Spraggs.

He worked as an HVAC Technician for Spraggs Heating & Cooling. He was a charter member of the Big Prairie Jaycees, he enjoyed fishing, flying RC Planes, and spoiling his grandkids.  He was always assisting others regardless of their means.

On May 14, 1977 he married Laura Gilliam-Spraggs, she survives of the home in Matthews, MO.

Other survivors include two sons, Manuel (April) Spraggs and Justin Spraggs both of Matthews, MO; two daughters, Amanda Hughes of Avon, CT and Tonya Spraggs of Alton, IL; three brothers, Terry (Sue) Spraggs of Warrenton, MO, Brad (Kim) Spraggs of Jefferson City, MO, and Scotty (Kim) Spraggs of Jackson, MO; twelve grandchildren, Mary, Ethan, Aubrey, Hannah, Gabrielle, Alyssa, Charity, Jaylen, Justin Jr., Chloe, Claire, and Jackson; and one great-granddaughter, Addison.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his best friend and uncle, Kenny Johnson.

Visitation will be held Saturday, March 16, from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home. Lucas Polk will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Matthews Cemetery.
