Donald Eugene Dorris, age 88, of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away January 26, 2024 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.

He was born September 14, 1935 in Steele, MO, son of the late Eugene Dorris and Irene "Jessie" Anderson Dorris.

He was a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Korean War Era, and a member of the Navy SEABEEs.

He was self-employed, owner/operator of Sunshine Steel and Dorris Concrete.  He co-owned SEMO Skydiving.

Donald was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He is survived by one daughter, Ceretha Rucker of Sikeston, MO; two sisters, Linda Lawrence of New Madrid, MO and Holly Chappell of Morehouse, MO; and two grandchildren, Dilan Rucker and Brittney Rucker both of Sikeston, MO.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Souther and "Donna" Faye Ware.

Services will be Monday, February 5, 2024 at noon at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
