Delbert "Dale" Lewis Banks , age 64, died September 10, 2025 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO.
He was born March 22, 1961 in Advance, MO, son of the late Rogers and Virgie Lee Sims Banks.
Dale worked for the Cotton Gins in Vanduser and Crowder since 1985, for the last six years he has worked for Stockade Buildings Inc.
He married Rachiel Wheeler Banks on November 23, 2002 she survives of the home.
Dale was a cherished soul who relished the simple joys of life. Whether he was outside conversing with neighbors or enjoying a cold beer, Dale's heart was always full. He had a passion for dancing and singing. He loved all music but country music was his favorite, especially tunes like "Watermelon Crawl" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie." Above all, Dale was a dedicated family man who adored his wife, children, grandbaby, and extended family with all his heart. His warmth and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, De'Laya Banks and Brionna Flye; five brothers, Melvin (Lillie) Banks, Donald (Jean) Banks, Oscar Townsend, Larry (Ann) Townsend, and Marvin Townsend; two sisters, Sarah Woodson and Abigail (Charlie) Smith; one grandson, Tyrone Treadwell 3rd; a special brother-in-law, Earnest Wheeler; two special sister-in-laws, Ineada Gaines and Penny Banks; special nephew, Rodtree (Tree) Banks; special nieces, Georgia Daniels, Denise McClinton Patterson, Kylee Avance and Karlee Avance; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and family.
Including his parents he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, MO.
Interment will follow at the Pullen Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bell City, MO.
