Davis Kelso, age 90, of Sikeston, Missouri, passed away March 15, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
He was born November 14, 1931 in Itawamba County, Mississippi, son of the late Walter Davis Kelso and Mary Summers Kelso.
Davis was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War and worked as a self-employed farm mechanic before retiring.
He was married to Shirley Parker Kelso, she preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters, Judy Myers (Doug) of Sikeston, Missouri and Karen Kelso-Waldron (Gary) of Fulton, Mississippi; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Davis was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Davis Kelso; three brothers, Meb Kelso, Reb Kelso, and Harley Kelso; seven sisters, Vema Kelso-Young, Vela Kelso-Payne, Verb Kelso-Curtis, Peb Kelso-Cauthorne, Lave Kelso-Troope, Miriam Summers-Moore, and Josephine Kelso; and one grandchild, Mary Jo Waldron-Blankenship.
There will be a memorial service held Saturday, March 19, at 1:00 p.m. at Matthews Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Chris Polk will officiate.
