David Eugene Stinnett, 65, of Sikeston, passed away, Monday, June 21, 2021, at Delta South Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sikeston, Missouri.
He was born May 7, 1956, in Mississippi County to the late Ernest Stinnett and Cleone Lynch Stinnett. He was a graduate of the Charleston High School.
On August 22, 1998, in Springfield, Illinois, he married Cheryl Huston, who survives him.
He was an amazing gentleman who touched many lives with his heart, his talents, his sense of humor, and his love for the Lord. David was such a selfless soul who loved working with his horses, volunteering his services to help anyone in need, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Dana McGill and Nikki Wallace both of East Prairie, Missouri; one stepson Keegan Huston of Greenview, IL; one brother, Robert Stinnett of East Prairie; three sisters, Onedia Boatwright of Arnold, MO, Sue Adank of Tallahassee, FL, and Janie (Paul) Aters of Miner, MO; eight grandchildren, Allison Hatch, Layla Huston, Dylan Brown, Madalyn Brown, Hunter Carden, Gunner Carden, Brittney Setzer, David Huston, and Fancy; and four great-grandchildren, Mally, Nora, Raelynn, and Kayden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, William Stinnett, Earl Stinnett, and Donald Stinnett; four sisters, Joyce Hinchey, Eileen Burpo, Frances Sims, and Wanda McDermott; and a great-grandchild Jacob Setzer, Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 25, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Pastor Darrin Hensley of the Bement Baptist Church will officiate.
Interment will follow immediately at the Armer Cemetery in Mississippi County, Missouri, under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home of Sikeston.
