Claud David Thomure, age 82, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at his home near East Prairie, MO.  He was born October 15, 1942, in the Wendyville community of Mississippi County, MO, son of the late Arno Claude and Lovie Doris Ward Thomure.  He was a 1961 graduate of East Prairie High School and worked at all three muffler plants before starting Thomure Manufacturing in 1978, a business which thrived for 45 years.  He was especially fond of the farm and visited it almost every day.  He also enjoyed buying antique tractors and restoring them, always putting a chrome stack on every one of them!  He was of Pentecostal faith.

On August 25, 1961, he married Burse Lea Bell, who preceded him in death April 10, 1994.

Claud is survived by two sons, David Thomure (Jennifer) of East Prairie and Michael Thomure of East Prairie; one sister, Joyce Parham (Charles) of East Prairie; two grandchildren, Eric Thomure and James Riley; and many great grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie Joe Thomure.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral services at 2 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. George White officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Dave Thomure, Mike Thomure, Eric Thomure, Jon Scott Bryant, Ethan Thomure and Evan Thomure.
