Obituary

Clara Lois Vancil, age 89, passed away May 7, 2025 at Apache Junction, AZ.

She was born August 24, 1935 in Painton, MO, daughter of the late Earl Williams and Opal Wagoner-Williams.

She was of the Baptist faith, had worked for Brown Shoe Company for over 20 years, and had volunteered at voting poles. She grew up in Painton, MO then moved to St. Louis, MO, and then lived between Ava, IL and Apache Junction, AZ.

On October 1, 1960 she was married to Glenn Andrew Vancil, he preceded her in death after 63 years of marriage.

Clara is survived by one son, David Vancil of Ava, IL; one brother, Mike (Marva) Williams of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Marilyn McConnell of California; three grandchildren, Joseph Vancil, Glenn Vancil, and Autumn Vancil; and four great-grandchildren, Gage Hill, Leonardo Vancil, December Moon Vancil, and Sonora Vancil.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother Glen Williams; and two sisters, Reba Gardner and Bobby Hampe.

Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 12:00 noon at Perkins Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Perkins, MO.  Ponder Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
