Obituary

Charles Franklin Wallace Jr., age 90, passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025, at his home in East Prairie, MO.  He was born January 14, 1935, in Kentucky to the late Charles Franklin Wallace Sr. and Golda Mae Dunkin Wallace and was a self-employed commercial fisherman.  He spent over thirty years of his life enjoying fishing on the river and selling fish at the fish market.  Charles loved spending time with friends and was an avid outdoorsman.  He also worked in construction as well as painting water towers.

Survivors include his life partner, Barbara Garrett of the home; one son, Richard Garrett; three daughters, Shelia Wallace Brewer, Tina Louise Carden (Jimmy),  and Sheryl Jean (Charlie) Keene; two brothers, Ronnie Lee (Judy) Wallace and Jimmy Dale Wallace; one sister, Peggy Sue Tinnon; grandchildren, Crystal, Carmen, Mandie, Nikole, and Christina; as well as nine great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ricky Dale Wallace; one daughter, Christy Lynn Garrett; one grandson, Dillon; three brothers, Clyde Richard Wallace, William Edward Wallace, and Carl Ray Wallace; and one sister, Mary Ruth Marcum.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

A graveside service will immediately follow at Dogwood Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Keene, David McElfresh, Hayden Barnard, Josh Cook, Hunter Cook, and Richard Garrett.
