Carolyn Smith, age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at her home in East Prairie, Missouri.  She was born April 24, 1949, in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Francis Cohen and Rentha Idell Hunt Cohen.

She was married to James Edward Smith, Sr., who passed away May 24, 2021.

Carolyn is survived by one son, James (Holly) Smith, Jr. of East Prairie; three daughters, Tammy (Ron) Yarbro of East Prairie, Rendella (Lizzy) Smith of East Prairie and Shelly Barnes of Ozark, Missouri; and one brother, Frank Cohen of Matthews, Missouri.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Cohen.

Visitation will be held Monday September 27, 2021, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, with Bro. Martin Lucas officiating.

Interment will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
